{"id":1569,"date":"2010-06-28T14:15:23","date_gmt":"2010-06-28T18:15:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.nejm.org\/cardioexchange\/%e2%80%a2acc-and-aha-offer-detailed-guidance-on-the-plavix-warning\/"},"modified":"2011-07-19T17:44:56","modified_gmt":"2011-07-19T21:44:56","slug":"acc-and-aha-offer-detailed-guidance-on-the-plavix-warning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.nejm.org\/cardioexchange\/2010\/06\/28\/acc-and-aha-offer-detailed-guidance-on-the-plavix-warning\/","title":{"rendered":"ACC and AHA Offer Detailed Guidance on the Plavix Warning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In response to the addition in March of a boxed warning on the Plavix (clopidogrel) label, the ACC and the AHA have published <a href=\"http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/28d7guw\">a clinical alert<\/a> intended to provide guidance to clinicians.&nbsp;David Holmes, Jr, the chair of the writing group, said in a press release that \u201cthe majority of patients do very well with standard guideline-based clopidogrel, but for the small number of patients who have problems, these are big problems.\u201d<br \/>\nThe ACC and the AHA do not offer&nbsp;specific recommendations relating to genetic testing.
