The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/content.onlinejacc.org\/cgi\/content\/full\/j.jacc.2011.12.001\">2012 Appropriate Use Criteria for Coronary Revascularization Focused Update<\/a>\u00a0incorporates data from the SYNTAX trial on the indications for PCI and CABG in patients with symptomatic, multivessel disease, as well as data from the CathPCI registry.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some of the key ratings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>PCI for\u00a0<strong>low-burden left main disease alone<\/strong><strong>\u00a0or with blockages in other arteries with a low disease burden<\/strong>:\u00a0<em>uncertain<\/em><\/li>\n<li>PCI for\u00a0<strong>intermediate- or high-burden left main disease:\u00a0<\/strong><em>inappropriate<\/em><\/li>\n<li>PCI for\u00a0<strong>low-burden three-vessel disease<\/strong>:\u00a0<em>appropriate<\/em><\/li>\n<li>PCI for i<strong>ntermediate- or high-burden three-vessel disease<\/strong>:\u00a0<em>uncertain<\/em><\/li>\n<li>CABG remains\u00a0<em>appropriate<\/em>\u00a0for patients with <strong>two-vessel disease including the proximal LAD<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>three-vessel and left main disease<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The ACC, AHA, and other organizations have released updated appropriate use criteria for coronary revascularization.
