The new center will focus on new minimally invasive treatments for heart failure and heart valve disease.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to going to Miami in 2006, where he had been the\u00a0executive dean for Research, Research Training and Innovative Medicine, O&#8217;Neill had spent 20 years in the Detroit area as the director of the division of cardiovascular medicine at William Beaumont Hospital.
