The fellows include\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.nejm.org\/cardioexchange\/members\/kumardharmarajan775\/\">Kumar Dharmarajan<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.nejm.org\/cardioexchange\/members\/sethmartin189\/\"><strong>Seth Martin<\/strong><\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.nejm.org\/cardioexchange\/members\/sauravchatterjee996\/\"><strong>Saurav Chatterjee<\/strong><\/a>. For more of our ACC.14 coverage of late-breaking clinical trials, interviews with the authors of the most important research, and blogs from our fellows on the most interesting presentations at the meeting, check out our\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.nejm.org\/cardioexchange\/voices\/acc-14-headquarters\/\">ACC.14 Headquarters<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A novel idea: a &#8220;patient&#8221; told his own story at the PM clinical focus\u00a0session &#8220;Championing Care for Patients with Aortic Stenosis.&#8221; I use quotation marks\u00a0because he really wasn&#8217;t a patient &#8211; he was a\u00a0professional actor. Yet despite the tired eyes in the audience, he was able\u00a0to connect sufficiently to make the case for shared decision-making when\u00a0considering valve replacement.<\/p>\n<p>My question: why don&#8217;t we do this more often at large conferences,\u00a0especially when we operate in huge rooms with large physical distances to\u00a0the speakers?
