{"id":11801,"date":"2026-03-02T15:02:29","date_gmt":"2026-03-02T20:02:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.nejm.org\/hiv-id-observations\/?p=11801"},"modified":"2026-03-02T15:02:29","modified_gmt":"2026-03-02T20:02:29","slug":"farewell-to-this-blog-and-hello-to-nejm-voices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.nejm.org\/hiv-id-observations\/index.php\/farewell-to-this-blog-and-hello-to-nejm-voices\/2026\/03\/02\/","title":{"rendered":"Farewell to This Blog &#8212; and Hello to NEJM Voices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After 18 years of <em>HIV and ID Observations<\/em>, this is my final post here.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s nearly 1000 posts since March 2008 &#8212; commentary on new HIV data, debates about antibiotic duration, EMR rants, cartoon caption contests, conference highlights, pandemic pain and progress, and more than a few peeves about \u201cquick questions.\u201d Along the way we built something I value enormously: a community of readers who care about infectious diseases, good clinical reasoning, and (occasionally) a joke about drug names. Or a ridiculous video.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.nejm.org\/hiv-id-observations\/index.php\/gepotidacin-new-antibiotic-or-rare-tropical-bird\/2025\/04\/03\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Blujepa<\/a>, anyone?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.nejm.org\/hiv-id-observations\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2025\/04\/crazy_bird_no_spaces-668x1024.png\" width=\"196\" height=\"301\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve written before about <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.nejm.org\/hiv-id-observations\/index.php\/giving-thanks-this-time-to-you-readers-of-this-thing\/2023\/11\/23\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">how grateful I am for your attention and engagement<\/a>. The good news is that this won&#8217;t change &#8212; beginning today, March 2nd, you\u2019ll find me in a new home: <a href=\"https:\/\/voices.nejm.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NEJM Voices<\/a>. Same writer, new URL.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re signed up for notifications, you\u2019ll continue to receive them automatically.<\/p>\n<p>And finally, after all this time, it\u2019s time to retire the title. <em>HIV and ID Observations<\/em> always felt strangely temporary, but we could never come up with a mutually agreed upon replacement.<\/p>\n<p>(<em>Sax, Bugs, and Drugs<\/em> remains available, in case anyone is wondering.)<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ll be posting the same content you\u2019ve come to expect, with support from NEJM Group, in this new location and format.
