He kindly agreed to tell his story for a <a href=\"https:\/\/academic.oup.com\/ofid\/article\/5\/11\/ofy311\/5186610\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">podcast on <em>Open Forum Infectious Disease<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>(It&#8217;s also available on <a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/gb\/podcast\/the-ofid-podcast\/id1368469324?mt=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">iTunes<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/overcast.fm\/+Mo15jwgDE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Overcast<\/a>; we&#8217;re working on Stitcher.)<\/p>\n<p>He talks about growing up with hemophilia, and HIV, and hepatitis C, and how this influenced his career and family life. (Quick answer &#8212; both hardly at all, and more than most could possibly understand.
